MANCHESTER UNITED HAVE THE GREENLIGHT TO SIGN STONES

Manchester United are now favourites to sign Everton defender John Stones this summer after
Chelsea pulled out of the race to sign the England international.
The Blues made four bids for the 21-year-old last summer but the Toffees maintained that they would not sell the former Barnsley man.
Jose Mourinho who has a gentleman’s agreement to replace Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford this summer was desperate to bring the defender to Stamford Bridge and viewed him as the perfect successor to John Terry.
However, Chelsea’s interest has since weakened and incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte is believed to favour a move for Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci, according to the Daily Star .
United – regardless of Mourinho’s arrival are interested in Stones and the Red Devils now have a clear path to sign the youngster with Chelsea dropping out of the race.
Everton would demand a fee in excess of £45million to sell the youngster.
